Full support for Microsofts DHCP Service

The current implementation of DHCP on RISC OS only asks for an IP address and relies on the DHCP server sending back more information than is asked for in order to populate the IP stack with all the details required. Microsoft’s Windows DHCP services only ever return information that is explicitly asked for therefore the RISC OS DHCP client does not ask for enough information to successfully initialise the IP stack in a Windows DHCP networking environment. This issue has been raised a couple of times in the recent past with people (including myself) testing the Raspberry Pi Alpha ROMs on the following threads. https://www.riscosopen.org/forum/forums/4/topics/1165 https://www.riscosopen.org/forum/forums/1/topics/1098?page=3#posts-13940 Paul |

Ah! I think (and I’ll have to check), but Apple’s base stations operate in a similar fashion, which may explain why my Pi has lost its network connection since the update (idiot here forgot to note down various settings before applying update, etc.). |
