Keymapper configuration tool

Keymapper is a very useful tool, particularly on laptops with odd/missing keys, and also allows remapping of the mouse buttons. However configuring it is very cryptic even for an experienced RISC OS user. New users would have no chance! It would be nice to have a configuration plugin to simplify setting it up and running it at boot time. |

KeyMapCfg is now available to download from !Store KeyMapCfg allows you to pick the keys you wish to map from a drop down menu. Any feedback regarding bugs, glaring errors and omissons, or feature requests welcome. With thanks to Stuart Painting for beta testing and pointing out the first lot of bugs and errors! This is only my second application using the Toolbox, so underneath the covers I’m sure it’s very rough and ready, but hopefully will at least be a stop-gap solution until a proper programmer can write something better. |

A stop-gap solution until something better? You’ll get the bugs ironed out and it will work and then you’ll have the option if it ain’t broke, don’t “fix” it. ;-) |

And shortly after completing the tests, my MacBook died. No more RPCEmu for a while… At least this ArmBook still works :-) |

New version uploaded to !Store which, by request, copes with people using hexadecimal(!) values for key codes in their config files! |

Thanks for that very quick response Andrew, excellent job. Now we just need it turned into a proper configure plugin and included with the standard disc image ;-) |

Now we just need it turned into a proper configure plugin and included with the standard disc image Something that organise the shifted keys as well would be good. Reading last night that the linux keyboard driver way to send arrow keys and a few others is to use escape (27) sequences, so there would be 4 bytes for each arrow key. |
