This relates a little bit to the post "Desktop Fonts/controls", it mentions the RTK C++ toolkit, basically I am wondering if ROOL should maybe put it's weight behind one, or a few WIMP libraries? When I've thought about writing software for RISC OS, part of my decision making process is 'what WIMP library shall I use?' I wonder how many are still being maintained, whether if I report a bug, will it get fixed etc... Maybe ROOL should give a stamp of approval to some libraries, and maybe try to get developers singing from the same hymn sheet? Or maybe not have 'official approval' but have a page listing toolkits for C, C++, and (bleurgh) BASIC? |
