Looking at Theo’s listing the first thought that occurs is a question of whether the headings picked out below should form links to pages of that name: Announcements: That would eliminate scrolling issues and possibly make distinguishing between items people want to see in a “Recent Posts” feed a bit easier. There’s probably scope for things like “Code review” in both Community Support and also in Development although in the latter it might be better labelled as “OS Code Review” and thus clearly targeting proposed OS development while the Community Support version is a place for personal apps/utils etc. |

I think its very important we keep the Community Support for helping users both existing and new to the OS. Would it be possible in the case of Announcements in some way to limit it to the initial announcement from whoever and direct any comments relating to it to another forum, i.e like a redirect/followups/reply-to. Thus limiting announcement to the actual announcement, this would help keep at least keep it clean. The idea of a downvote on a post might have some merit as well in the other forum posts. |

I don’t see any merit in lumping RPCEmu with Porting. The Porting forum is meant to be technical discussions on porting to new hardware: a very specialist area which is beyond the skills of most programmers. RPCEmu is supposed to be a forum where ordinary users can discuss the emulator and get help. I think the main gap is somewhere that programmers can ask for help in developing RISC OS applications, as Code Review is really about developing the OS and Community Support can be basic questions about using RISC OS. I’d be happy to see Community Support and General merged, and for Wish Lists and Bugs to be merged (if necessary). |

I think that Bugs could be lumped in with Community Support and General, because if it’s a reproducible bug in RISC OS (not third party stuff), rather than ‘anyone else experiencing this?’ a ticket should be raised. |

Did Bugs originally get created when the ticket system was broken for a while? I agree with your suggestion. |
