Configurable Select, Menu, Adjust mouse button positions

Hi, This has probably been asked many times and already done but I couldn’t find it. Is it possible to change the positions of the Select, Menu and Adjust mouse buttons? (Other than re-wire the mouse) Br, |

Interesting view – I’ve always thought *M*enu and *M*iddle made the most intuitive layout. Then again I’ve been using a three button mouse from a time point before Windows. One of the mouse utilities may offer the left -right swap and remap. That said modifying the appropriate module to allow selectable swapping would be nice. |

You want the KeyMapper module . I can verify that swaps the action of the Select and Adjust mousebuttons on a an Rpi2 with RO5.23.

Thanks! I’ll try that.
Well I said “for most” The middle menu button used to be the most intuitive for me too. |

I would go as far as saying that Select-Adjust-Menu should be the default with the Pi version, as it has the highest proportion of new users. I’d also say that it should be exposed through Configure so that it can be toggled easily. It’s better to swap the buttons “underneath” than to remap them using KeyMapper; although I haven’t tried it, I assume that it’s the software equivalent of physically swapping the buttons. However, you don’t necessarily always want them swapped. For example, some games have “hold left and right buttons to run”. KeyMapper would presumably change that to “hold left button and scroll wheel”, which would be less comfortable over extended periods. Of course, here I go again with “all talk; no code” :( |

Making it an option is one thing, but swapping the order by default means that all existing documentation will be wrong. |

I’ll concede that one; I forgot about documentation. |
