Help command

If RISC OS 5 has booted into the supervisor prompt, not having found a ’!Boot’ image then typing the word ‘Help’ should include an item ‘GUI’ (similar to ‘Commands’) viz. ‘GUI – this explains the requirements for a Graphical User Interface (Windows, Icons, Mouse and Pull-Down Menus etc)’ then ‘Help GUI’ would produce: ’==> Help on keyword GUI ‘The graphical user interface (GUI) requires external storage to hold a ’!Boot’ image and normally recognises this on start up. Otherwise it may be started manually by the command ‘Desktop’ once this image has been provided. A suitable ’!Boot’ image may be downloaded from the RISC OS Open website.’ This would be helpful, for example, for new users trying RISC OS for the first time on things like Beagleboards. |
