New Disk Formatter.

I would like to request that SCSIform be updated. Since all modern drives are LBA, could it drop the use of cylinders, heads and sectors, and use size instead? Could it write an MSDOS style partition table with an entry that matches the area it formats ADFS? (there are several unused partition types including; 2c 2d 2e 2f 3e 3f 5d 5e 5f 60 6f) This would prevent other systems identifying the drive as blank, and it would also allow unused space to be used by another operating system. (It would also be a step towards partition support on RISC OS.) Could it have presets? (For how much to use and format.) Whole Drive 499MB (old format) 2GB (old format) 128GB 256GB Could it have the ability to work on both USB and IDE? Thanks |
