Touchscreen tablets may require larger window furniture sprites

For the moment, touchscreen functionality isn’t implemented on AI’s Touch Book. If/when it is, the window tool sprites are probably a little smaller than desirable if not using a stylus. (And for devices with higher resolutions than the TB’s 1024×600, this could be more apparent, dependent on physical screen sizes.) Therefore, I think that perhaps if the window furniture sprites were to (optionally – via Configure) have their dimensions doubled, this would be of assitance if/when touchscreen functionality is present. In connection with this, here are some further obvious considerations:
Note that there’s also a little (off-topic) discussion of behavioural stuff in the ROOL ROM branding thread. And to go off topic here too, adding resizing from all window edges could be handy – although perhaps this has been suggested elsewhere. If this were to be implemented, icons may not be necessary if an appropriate context-sensitive pointer were displayed (although that may not be too intuitive for touchscreen use). [Edit: Also this Windows thread, but I think that’s more concerned with rendering, hardware acceleration etc. And the Touchscreen Driver thread.] |
