What is the situation on running Linux/ROX – on the New machines? (Ti seems to being worked on) |

Old thread I know, but in case people find the thread later… Titanium – both Elesar and ourselves (R-Comp) offer a Linux for Titanium, or you can “roll it yourself”. We offer a more expensive/elaborate “graphical Linux” approach (ie. GUI login, desktop, apps etc) on higher capacity discs. The Elesar offering is considerably cheaper, I believe, on a smaller disc, and boots to command line. ARMX6 – Linux hasn’t generally been requested, so it isn’t something we’ve prioritised, but the motherboard is perfectly capable of running Linux (and has various distributions available). One of our partners has recently taken some time of work and was last seen booting Linux kernals on his (RISC OS) ARMX6 by way of “hobby project”. |
