Why not set RISC OS to boot up and directly enter BASIC (instead of the Desktop), and set it to start up in MODE 7? [edit: damn, Stuart got in just before me!]
The two modes are because I think WimpMode and Mode are aliases of each other these days, but just in case… RISC OS 5.2x 986MB BCM2xxx processor BASIC V with a billion bytes free > |

And why not hobble yourself further by doing something like END=PAGE+16*1024 ? ;-) Edit: I can edit that bit out ! |

Question: How much of the 16K do you need to fill with some sort of padding to simulate the real working RAM for a program? |

I’m using Firefox 85.0.2 on a Windows 10 laptop currently, and that will load pages from http-only sites quite happily. |

No.
What current Firefox, with “HTTPS Only” enabled does is warn you when there is no valid HTTPS page and offer to take you to the HTTP page instead if you click the offered icon So, if you’re seeing a big yellow rimmed warning page then, locally, you can check the “Advanced” option and investigate the problem. 1 I’d really rather prefer that RO developers spend time developing than chasing niggly web problems that probably ought to be fixed by their ISP 2 Thankfully I haven’t found RO related sites that fit the abysmal category. |

Just as a quick example of bad practice in places you’d expect better https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=acaai.org Yes, that’s SSL3 active… This qualifies as a “bad”, I have a few notes on abysmal somewhere… |
