This must be absolutely number one on my wishlist – apply the global clipboard to writable icons, as per Select. Adam |

Yup, I’m with you on that one. I’m amazed I never thouht about suggesting it myself. Global Copy, Cut & Paste please. |

There is a version of the Wimp in our source tree which (partially?) implements cut and paste in writeable icons. Also, the Clipboard module is available from our site. This has just been 32-bitted (but I don’t know how finished it is). Note: the main specification for the Drag and Drop protocol, which supersedes the cut-and-paste and drag-and-drop application notes (Support Group Application Notes 240 and 241), is available to download amongst the sources to the Clipboard module:
We’re hoping to put it up on our site soon so that it’s easier for people to find. Any work on cut-and-paste/drag-and-drop protocols in RISC OS must use this specification as the starting point. |

What an old thread… I tried pasting from the global clipboard into a writable icon in 5.22 recently. It didn’t work. Has it been implemented in mainstream RO? What keystroke, if not Control-V? |

It’s only been added to Edit |

I suggested a bounty for this. I agree it would be useful. |

Ah. Much more recent. I used a search term that didn’t turn that thread up. |
