The advantage of being on the iconbar is that it jumps to the front when the pointer is at the bottom of the screen. Of course one could have an expanding panel from hovering on an icon, but widescreen monitors are SOOOOOO WIIIIIIIIIDE, what else are we doing with all that space.
Well, if it has Niall Douglass’s CallWin32 module, it’ll work. |

Well – the Mac brings all the icons together in the middle of the bottom of the screen, and you can use the rest of the bottom for other work. RISCOS could put the lefthand icons at the left as is, and the righthand ones at the right, and allow me to extend my workspace down to the bottom of the screen in the middle. Probably (marginally) better than what the Mac does. |

Well the off the shelf laptop is wider than tall but the screen width isn’t exactly panoramic.

Having had a peek at the CallWin32 modules alone I suspect that without an already 32-bit version there aren’t going to be many people doing testing on that item. |
