EtherUSB for AX8872B adapters

Would anyone with a AX88772 USB Ethernet adapter like to try this version of EtherUSB. It has changes to the AX88772 backend to support AX88772B devices and a couple of tweaks that may make cheap ax88772 adapters that didn’t work before now work. I’d like to know if anyone has an ax88772/A/B that doesn’t work with this module. To use it you just need to put the EtherUSB module in the Boot.Choices.Boot.PreDesk directory. A tip if you are testing a couple of adapters, If you are using EtherUSB already there is no need to change the internet settings just change the adapter and reboot ensuring only one ethernet cable is connected to the computer – ie the one plugged in to the adapter. One possible trap to be wary of is an ethernet is unlikely to work properly in a pi b series without the adapter being in a powered hub. |

Great and speedy work. We only sent Colin the B variant datasheet on Friday! |

Colin, Just wanted to add confirmation of this working with my recently acquired cheap USB Ethernet adapter. Posting this from NetSurf on my PiZero/LapDock combination using the adapter and updated EtherUSB. Fantastic stuff – thanks!! Edit: For reference, this is a link to the eBay listing of the device in question: |

Excellent. I see that the changes have now been added to the ROOL sources so users of the latest ROM images won’t need the updated EtherUSB module. |

Indeed. I confirm that the recent builds allow (at least my) AX8872B adapter to work out-of-the-box – no replacement EtherUSB needed in Boot.Choices.Boot.PreDesk anymore. Thanks again. |

I have tried my Pi Zero with the recommended ebay USB/Ethernet adapter and the 30-Dec-2015 rom build and it works fine. |
