StudioSound

(Thought it might be best to take this thread out of Announcements.) Henrik: I’ve made some progress with the sprites – tidied up the existing ones and set them to optimised palettes. Results in a useful reduction in file size. What’s the best way of getting these to you?
Ah, that’s why the pan icons look odd. I guess it might be better to ditch the conversion code for those icons that don’t require very fast plotting. A few small observations: If you’re happy with the current sprite set, happy to start work on some drum icons for the new track feature. |

You can find my email adresse in the StudioSound !Help file. I’d be happy to ditch the conversion to the current mode, but if there is an optimized palette for each sprite then that will require that StudiSound keeps track of ColourTrans tables, for those sprites that are plotted by StudioSound, instead of being plotted by the Wimp. Perhaps it would be better/easier to use the default palette for those few sprites. So the pan and volume sprites should all have the default palette. The background sprite, and the new drum sprites, all need to be converted to the current mode, for speed, so they can have any palette. There are probably lots of sprites in Sprites22 that are no longer used. You can delete ‘iconbar’ from Sprites22, I’ll make sure to use the copy from !Sprites22. I have not looked into what the various settings in PackMan does. The DotMatrix font is no longer used. It couldn’t figure out how to install it… I look forward to seeing the new sprites. |

Henrik, Your package control file for PackMan just needs a new line: If you used PackIt, it’s on the Files page, select Movable from the Component flags. |

Thanks – I’ll make sure the next version will be movable. |
