Aemulor Pro - Impression Publisher & RiscOs 5.18

Since Installing RiscOs 5.18 on my Iyonix, I have had a number of Impression Publisher Crashes :

These seam to relate to printing, Wordworks & the Theasurus.

I belive they all worked before installing 5.18

If possable could someone do a test Load Impression 4.11, then click Utilities>Theasurus…
It crashes every time for me.

You don’t say if you are using the Postscript3 driver in which case Martin Würthner has released a fixed, v1.20, for crashes whilst printing and some other Impression issues.

Printing with the PS2 versions of printers crashes, however with PS3 v1.19 (17 feb 2011) priting doesn’t crash, but the Wordworks & Theasurus problems still exist.

I hadn’t noticed there was a new version of printers, but the other issues still exist.

Just tried !Style v3.13 on my Iyonix with 5.18 and it works OK with PS3 v1.20.

!WordWorks does not work or load with RISC OS 5.18.

!Style also fails to load with RISC OS 5.19 (4th May 12).

So at the moment if WordWorks is really required then you will need to stay with RISC OS 5.16 and consider just using the softload version of 5.18/19. If Impression is required then 5.19 is a no go.

By the way !Printers is version 1.76 (12th Jan 12) from the latest Hard Disc image on the ROOL website.

IIRC the last ever released versions of Impression were
Publisher Plus 5.13
Publisher 4.13
Doug’s Style 3.13 makes sense!

I have Publisher 4.09, RISC OS 5.18 on Iyonix, Aemulor 2.32, Wordworks 1.06 and all work perfectly. In fact 5.18 has been very very stable.

Printing to Steve Fryatt’s PrintPDF (r653) stops with an error message requiring more memory than Aemulor can access.

Printing through printers 1.75 to a laserjet performs as it should.

Now got WordWorks working on my Iyonix with RISC OS 5.18 after updating !CCShared with modules from my working copy on the RiscPC. Think it was down to the version of ABIMod that I had that caused the issue.

Still no joy with running !Style on RISC OS 5.19 though.

I have tried printers 1.76 – with some joy for PS2 printing – most test documents print – but not all.

The ABIMod I have is version 2.86 (18 Jan 1994) – which on my machine is in Modules not !CCShared? Which Modules & versions do you have?

I have looked to see if I can find my 4.13 install disks to no avail – My Iyonix failed Oct 2011 – So some software is a new install (+ recovered from backup) – can only find versions 4.01, 4.04, 4.08 & 4.11.
