Delay on returning to Desktop after a single tasking window or F12

I’m using RC15 on my Pi3 and I notice after a single taksing window runs, after escaping F12 and jsut before the desktop appears at boot there’s a delay with a blank black screen. Is this supposed to be happening?

That’s normal – the OS resets the screen mode when you return to the desktop, so you’ll get a blank screen while the GPU changes mode and your monitor adjusts to the new signal.

At some point I’ll probably update the video driver so that it will skip the mode change if it knows that the new mode is the same as the old one.
