Drive icon width

An occasional glitch – I’m not sure if it’s RISC OS or FAT32FS. Sometimes (not often) when opening a USB drive not enough space is made to accommodate the text under the drive icon. So ‘PNY Hook’ becomes ‘NY Ho’ for instance. Trivial but I thought I ought to mention it. BB -xm |

Yes, it sometimes happens to me too, the wimp seems to ignore the request to resize the icon width occasionally. That whole piece of code in Fat32Fs is a bit of a bodge as changing icon widths on the fly is tricky. I’m sure that there has to be a better way of doing it…. |

I don’t think you should need to force it, unless you’re using the ‘L’ validation marker to say ‘disable text width calculation’. When new stuff is added to the iconbar the widths are recalculated for you I think. Alternatively – have a look at OmniClient, it names its drives on the fly too. |
