Weird Scrolling

SOLVED: But still posted as it may be useful. The problem exhibits itself when a window is not fully open, and is scrolled down from the top. It shows in filer windows, StrongED etc. If in a filer window I try to double-click a file, the window scrolls up by approx 1 file icon height then the double click is applied to a different file. (I’m using the small icon setting.) In StrongED if I click in the text in order to start typing, the window scrolls first. Most annoying. I can see the problem on an rpi 1B running 5.23 and an rpi 3B running 5.24. I have tried with the display type set to auto, and also set to Hannsg HN1298G (which I use because it works well with the 7 inch reversing camera screens I use elsewhere). I’ve tried a different monitor. Using Avalanche to connect, everything works as expected. Swapping the Microsoft wireless Mouse to a conventional one solved the problem. |

It’ll be the mouse wheel probably. Double-clicking perturbs the wheel, which sends a message… but I’m guessing the mouse position and buttons are queued, but the wheel event is dealt with immediately. To be fair, I get mouse wheel problems in Windows in programs like Gimp – there isn’t a fixed rule that makes the wheel useful when you want it to be but not destructive when you don’t. |
