Hi, I didn’t know whether to set protection on everything to editable or not since I saw no warnings about this on the upgrade instructions but I figured I’d mention it. Also is setting the font to WIMP font in themes meant to remove all text including the fonts lists’ text for selecting a different font? |

The font only contains 6 characters (4 arrows, a tick, and a cross). So it’s a bit like the Windows Windings font, but less exciting ;-) I guess a useful addition to the theme manager would be to have it hide fonts which don’t contain the right character definitions. |

I’m a bit late to the thread, but…
The standard upgrade instructions state: “Simply delete the old ones you have of the same name and replace them – this is safe because none of them store any settings inside themselves, that’s all in !Boot.Choices” – the implication being that you should delete all of the old application. There is another page that talks about upgrading which states “Simply delete the old application of the same name (e.g. !Maestro) and copy the new application across” which – while not identical wording – does talk about the operation as a “delete and copy” rather than an in-situ overwrite. I am loath to mention the “Force” option on those pages, partly because it smacks of excessive hand-holding, and partly because the mere mention of its existence could be taken as carte blanche to use it in other – more inappropriate – situations. Or maybe I’m just being over-cautious. |
