Beta RPi ROM 23-04-2020

Whilst running the 5.27 (23-04-20) build this morning my mouse stopped working. I unplugged it from the USB hub and it started again, but not for long. Eventually both keyboard and mouse stopped working. Both keyboard and mouse refused to work even when removed from the hub and plugged directly into the Pi. After the subsequent power-off and restart I noticed that the SD Card reader that’s built-in to the hub wasn’t being detected. It works under the 5.27 ROM build 19-Apr-20. At the time I had Zap, !GCC, Omni, Transient, Director and Netsurf running on my Pi3B. A debug file was created, but empty. |

There is something a bit weird going on. On my RPi3B+ with today’s, 23-04-20, ROM sometimes at startup it fails to find its SCSI USB SSD Boot drive. Briefly tested, the problem “goes away” if the new WindowScroll module is unplugged. |

Although I’m open to the idea of it being a bug in the WindowScroll module (and it’d probably mean it’s easier to fix!), it wouldn’t surprise me if some of these problems are related to the unusual behaviour Frederick encountered a few months ago. |

Plus I see mentions about the latest ROM being installed but no confirmation that the latest HardDisc image has as well as it seems to add some configuration settings and I did install that and crucially also used the “Set” button even though I didn’t change anything just to be sure. It did result in the Wireless Mouse/Keyboard freezing at that stage but cured by unplugging and plugging back in and has been OK since. |

Once the RPi3B+ has been coaxed into a full startup with !Boot does not play any part in this here as it fails even to find the boot drive never mind run anything on it. |
