Weird sound, GFX and Boot

Hi all. I recently upgrade my system to RISC OS 5.27 07/04/2020. I have some very strange bugs: I have also a problem with the PreDesk phase of Boot: Here, FAT32FS and the BBC font altsysfnt are not loaded. If I do this: Fat32FS module is loaded. But bot my BBC Font. Nota: everything was OK under RISC OS 5.26 Except the crash with some sound modules: Nota : Textile doesn’t like Pling+Letter. |

What a mess. !! FAT32FS: I changed the name because Fat32FS was not loading. But it was the fault of my Chime module, corrupted. And if FAT32FS becomes !! FAT32FS it loads and works, but with a SWI error, and some other files are ignored (Configure directory). Absolutely illogical. For the BBC Font, we need to *Print altsysfnt. So I made a directory with an obey file, the correct command and the font. Next, my corrupted sound module. It loads, registers, but crashes the whole system when you try to play the sound and block other items from loading. So funny. Without it, Maestro does not crash any more on some songs. The cracking sound is less present, but on ShostF7. A problem with the sound module, or with the song, or with Maestro? Sometimes, the square behind the cursor is not updated. For example when I paste a lot of data in StrongED or open a new page in NetSurf. But the best is that every 256 colours modes are now black, with just the cursor! |

The 256 colours modes bug was a problem with the Pi core files. All of this is a good demonstration of why a big leap forward means also big problems. IMHO, one major version each year would be nice. |
