RISC OS 5.28 on Pi Zero W

I am getting strange behaviour on the Pi Zero W. About 60% of the time RISC OS is starting up to a completely blank screen, with a flashing cursor at top left. Remove the SD card at this point and it then shows the boot splash screen and starts up into Supervisor. Replacing it and typing *CAT at this point gives ‘disc drive is empty’. Remove it and replace it again and the disc lists correctly.

Could this be to do with the SD card detect line?

RISC OS 5.29 gets as far as the ‘mod init SDIODriver’ and stops.

I also suspect the Pi Zero itself and will try another one…

It seems to depend critically on exactly how hard the SD card is pushed into its holder so I think I’ll condemn the Pi Zero in this case.

Corrosion or dirt on the SD socket maybe?
Could be worth trying Linux to see if that works, before you condemn the Pi!
