PI - Microsoft Comfort Mouse 6000

My first posting – and my first problem report. I bought this mouse today, because it is cheap, has a good quality and the wheel is pretty well suited (soft click) for the three button mouse needed for the RISC OS. → Adding this mouse to the Raspberry PI (either directly or via Hub) and RISC OS starts to the desktop and after several seconds the system does not respond any more – neither keyboard nor the mouse is working any more. The system does not respond even if I do not touch the mouse and leave the system alone. |

Should I add this to the bugs database myself – or why is this forum for ? |

I think you need to be more specific about the installed version of RISC OS – v5.19 but what date stamp? IIRC people mentioned problems with USB mice and keyboards a few revisions back. Bear in mind that 5.19 is bleeding edge and new versions appear fairly regularly. |

Loads of people have reported problems with Microsoft mice. They maybe cheap for the quality but there’s something that stops them working properly with the Pi. I think that the more generic & cheap the mouse is, the more it is likely to work with the Pi. I have a cheapo Asda keyboard/mouse (wireless) and have had no problems whatsoever. |
