Draw text areas - multiple columns

Think there is an oddity in RISC OS 5.28.

Using the D option for more than one column (e.g. D2 in listing below) dragging into Draw, used to double click on a column and then click/drag the handle to resize that column but doesn’t seem to do anything now.

Is anyone else seeing this or is there a new way of handling text columns now?

A quick test shows that drag resizing works on OS5.26, Draw 1.30.

A bit longer test indicates the fault arrived with Draw 1.39, 1.38 is OK.

I have version 1.41 and RO 5.29, I hope there will be a fix …

On my website I uploaded a 32bits version of MkdrawF, I asked Gareth McGaughan the author.
It’s a tool for creating decoding drawfiles. There is also a Wimp front end and documentation (to read!!!) .
Nice tool, I use it for text scripting with the possibility of including libraries, and also with C to replace the Postscript outputs of a program ex PariGP.

Found this, Delete scale_textcolumn() since Draw object 10 can only occur nested inside a text area, there’s no need to have a handler for it.

Yes, MkDrawf from Gareth McGaughan. There is a manual, we find the possibilities of !Draw and more.

MkDrawf uses text scripts with Draw objects, its look like your example:

The full text does not appear so you have to enlarge one or more columns, for example for column 2:
Column 220 400 320 500 (boundingbox)

Perhaps this is as simple as reinstating the scale_textcolumn function in Draw.c.DrawTrans that was removed in Draw 1.39 That works for the bug reported here and has not disrupted the fix for bug 445.

A test build of a standalone Draw 1.41a app was uploaded here but has been withdrawn, the issue is fixed in Draw 1.42, 28 July 21.

Right now I’m trying to build a flowchart with !Draw and its objects, including TextArea.

Now fixed in Draw 1.42, 28 July 21. Thanks ROOL.
