UnixLib and filename translation for redirection

Whilst it’s desirable (essential) for many applications that use UnixLib to have filename translation performed, surely this should only be switched on immediately prior to entering main(), or at least subsequent to any file redirection having been done. Consider:

svn di > ram:$.foo

I didn’t expect the resulting ram:$._/foo file!

(Tried to post on gccsdk but it didn’t let me)

Not sure why it’s doing it but if you use /ram:$.foo instead the file gets created as expected.
