Paint: file import bugs

Create a new SpriteFile and inside it a new sprite. The SpriteFile is marked as changed and when it’s closed, a save dialogue box pops up. All as you’d expect. Now create a new SpriteFile and inside it a new sprite, then drag an existing SpriteFile into it. This creates two problems. The SpriteFile takes on the title of the file dragged in. So if you save it, it will be written over the file dragged in, which is probably not what was intended. Also, the SpriteFile will be marked as unchanged so when you close it no save dialogue box will be opened. The SpriteFile will simply be discarded and one will lose any work done. Oops, just found another bug whilst re-checking the above. If you drag in the file when the display is set to ‘Full sprite details’ then the window is not resized and the added sprites can’t be accessed. You need to change the display type to make them visible. As I’m on a slightly older version of Paint (2.49, 05-Nov-22) I’d appreciate it if someone can confirm that these problems still are present in the latest version before I pop them onto the bug tracker. |
