BootError in Desktop file

While configuring different !Boot setup for RK3399, Raspberry Pi and RPCemu I got error “file BootError not found”.
After some digging I found a hint in this forum that actually the error comes from the !Boot.Choice.Boot.Desktop file where all settings are saved about “Look at”, “Run” at starup from the Configuration.

For example:
IfThere Boot:^.Utilities.Text.StrongED.!StrongED Then Else BootError Add to Apps: Could not locate 'Boot:^.Utilities.Text.StrongED.!StrongED' IfThere Boot:^.Utilities.Text.StrongED.!StrongED Then AddApp Boot:^.Utilities.Text.StrongED.!StrongED IfThere Boot:^.Utilities.Text.StrongED.!StrongED Then Filer_Boot Boot:^.Utilities.Text.StrongED.!StrongED

So it seems that BootError actually doesn’t work at all and needs to be replaced by error to give any meaningfull error message like:
"Add to Apps: Could not locate “Boot^.Utilitilites.Text.StrongED.!StrongED”

So the question is if there is a bug in !COnfiguration thats need to be corrected. Replace BootError by Error

BootError is a feature of the ROL fork of the OS.
Why do you have that in your Boot structure if you are running RO5.x ?

@Steve No idea how RO4 or RO6 stuff can get on my computer as I never used or owned that… if you mean by that ROL = RISC OS Limited that created RO4 and RO6.

My initial RO5.28 should be based on RO Direct. Then I tried to update it to 5.30 but The update obey refused to do it as it said it works only with 5.28. So I just updatd manually the ROM and some of the apps.
By the way where can the configuration programm be found?

Search the forum for “BootError”, this has come up before. RO Direct’s OS5.28 Boot Choices were not the same as the ROOL version.

I have had a further look at this BootError thing with the current OS5.28 ROD Direct download dated Jan 2021 and there are no BootError commands in the Desktop file. The previous references to this issue in this forum date to 2020.
