Bug in writable field validation?

If I create a writeable field with allowed characters including Other as – then when you enter one of the allowed fields it gives you a nice ofla ofla olfa ofla error box when you run my application and enter any “Other” characters, than a-z, A-Z or 0-9
I assume that the reason for this is that it expects something like a-z or something like that if there is a -. But I want to allow the – character.

Now it is possible that there is some escape character for these fields, or someway of specifying it.
If there is then ResEd should validate the fields, if not then there should be someway of validating a -.
Either way ofla ofla is a bug isn’t it?

I am creating the templates using ResEd 0.52

Quoting from the PRM:

If you use any of the special characters – ; ~ \ in a char-spec you must precede them with a backslash \

I’ve just tried with ResEd 0.53 and ticking a-z, A-Z, 0-9 and ‘-’ in Other works ok when I drop the window in ResTest. Does your window work when dropped into ResTest? If the default text is blank have you set the text Length?

Well with ResEd 0.52 it seems there is a bug that was squashed with 0.53, as it still oflas in ResTest for me.
However as Chris said escaping them does work.
Being the ever lazy, I’ll go for an upgrade though ;-)
I was meaning to anyway, not much in the update – but it’s nice to get the latest dev tools.
