Memory Loss

I’ve lost my memory – not me exactly but my Raspberry Pi. Since upgrading to the latest development release, 5.21 dated 03-Jun-14 I have 128Mb free rather than the 448Mb I had previously. How do I get it back again? |

It should be configurable in !Boot.Loader.CONFIG/TXT (you enter the amount to allocate to the GPU so you’ll want to set it to 64). Having said that, I saw something in the Raspbian release notes a couple of days ago about the memory allocations moving to a different file. I haven’t looked into this any further yet (and therefore don’t know whether it’s Raspbian-specific), but did you change the Pi firmware or just the OS ROM? |

64. I wonder if something has changed in the Firmware. I updated the Firmware, OS ROM and associated HardDisc image. Too much in one go I suspect. Thanks for the hint – perhaps a bit more digging is required. |

Problem is the Firmware. I used the latest firmware from… https://github.com.raspberrypi/firmware/tree/master/boot I think I read somewhere that these releases might cause problems. Have re-installed original Firmware (Bootcode/bin, Fixup/dat and Start/Elf) and now correct memory has been restored. |
