PlingSystem on RPC RO3.71

Not sure if this is the correct place to raise this, or if this is actually a bug – I’ve just installed PlingSystem and merged it with my UniBoot structure.

It basically plays well, however it does throw up with an unable to find “<Obey$Dir>.Themes.!Sprites” which ultimately leaves a missing !System sprite in !Configure. As far as I’m aware Themes don’t exist on RO3.7, so I’m assuming this is a bug in the script?

Offending lines seem to be:

./!System/!Boot:IconSprites <Obey$Dir>.Themes.!Sprites
./!System/!Run:If "<System$Dir>" = "" Then IconSprites <Obey$Dir>.Themes.!Sprites

The PlingSystem update doesn’t provide the sprites file because it would be rude to merge sprites-du-jour with whatever the user had chosen in their setup. However the extra themes added means there aren’t sprites there on the original install when you merge with Acorn’s UniBoot rather than the ROOL harddisc (which, by the way, also includes support for RISC OS 3.71 and includes a copy of !Configure that gets its system folder icon from a private pool regardless of theme).

I’ll make a note to correct the obey script, but for now you could just create a directory called “Themes” and manually move your sprites into it.

Thanks! That makes sense. My RiscOS-Fu was always pretty low, and now has about 20 years of rust on it!
