ShareFS

I use the Acorn file sharing solution (I did have some file corruption with Sunfish/Moonfish). With big files I get some ‘client get disconnected from server’, errors. Any idea on how to solve this? Nota: I use ROS 5.20. Other question: what network ports are used for this solution? |

Funny error to get when it is peer to peer rather than client/server! We used to have problems using ShareFS between the Iyonix and Risc PC because of big differences in their speed of handling network traffic. To solve it, on the Iyonix, we not have this command in the boot sequence: sharefswindow 1 { > null: } This reduces the ShareFS “window” causing the Iyonix to await acknowledgement of each packet before proceeding. This may have nothing to do with the error you have described, but as it solves the only problem I have ever had with ShareFS I thought I would mention it just in case ;-)
See http://www.marutan.net/rpcemu/manual/net-lin-tun.html I was hoping to use this information to network RPCEmu with real RISC OS machines. I have networking working, but I cannot work out how to set up iptables to do the port forwarding for ShareFS. |

Works perfectly! Nota: I use an Iyonix (workstation) and a PandaBoard ES (server).
So www.riscos.fr is still secure :) Thanks for the help. |
