Iyonix softload leaves keyboard & mouse non-working

I’m not sure whether this has been mentioned before, a quick search in the forums didn’t reveal anything.
My iyonix keyboard and mouse are wired via a line powered usb 1 hub. After the softload reboot I have to unplug the hub and then reinsert it to get them working.
I fully realise that it isn’t the recommended setup, but the 2nd rear port is wired to a powered usb 2 hub for driving hard drives etc, leaving the front ports free for easy access.
