Filer window redraw bug when dragging pinboard icons - reproducable?

This bug comes from a customer email, plus I reproduced it on a (different) customer’s (fully loaded) machine. ROM is 5.23 11th Oct. Half-cover a pinboard icon with a filer window. I did this top-bottom (ie. covered top half of icon with a filer window. Now, drag the pinboard icon. The filer window isn’t redrawn properly, and a grey rectangle is left. OK, this stems from the wimp visual flag -NoIconBoxesInTransparentWindows This flag is used to prevent the grey background “box” appearing behind text on the pinboard, which tends to look very ugly on an attractive backdrop. |

It looks related to the pinboard claiming the input focus while dragging a pinboard icon. If the window you use to cover the pinboard icon doesn’t have the input focus it works correctly. |

It seems to happen when the Filer window has input focus and the Pinboard icon has a standard 256 colour palette. The -NoIconBoxesInTransparentWindows (sic) doesn’t seem to make any difference. Iconised NetSurf and StrongED windows leave a grey rectangle, Filer and Paint windows don’t. The former have a standard palette, the latter a custom palette. |

This has already been reported as ticket #402 so it just needs someone willing and able to look into it. In an effort to keep the signal-to-noise ratio here a bit higher, I’ve put a copy of the ROOL tickets on my site so at least the titles can be checked. Note this isn’t a proper mirror, it’s just the top level page grabbed last weekend, while we wait for the webmaster to be free enough to ponder why it’s running slow. |

My initial thought was to comment on the routine server response. “This website is under heavy load” but you already know and have the pointy stick readied for use. BTW. Has anyone managed to add any bug tickets in recent months? Handy at least to have a read only copy to refer to, I’m sure you’ll be thanked many times over. |
