Pico and BBC BASIC-Keyboard Config?

Hi. Got the latest Pico up and running with the BBC BASIC VI sign on and prompt.
I’m using the PI2, and using Logitech #K120-US, and MS Basic optical usb mouse connected directly
to the PI2, the display is a generic HDMI PC monitor . The BASIC seems to have been set up for a UK keyboard of a certain brand?
I’m getting glitches(in edit mode) when trying to use the keyboard. If I tap a key, I get character run-on
instead of one character. Sometimes 2 or 3, or a whole line of the same character.
Sometimes I hit a key in edit mode and nothing happens, sometimes their will be a delayed response.
If I do happen to after many tries typing in a command line to run a program, the program
runs OK. Also, keyboard mapping might be an issue for a US keyboard as hitting some of the keys
result in a different character that is not represented on the keyboard like the British money
Pound sign symbol. I figure their might be something that needs to be tweaked in the boot-up scripts
for the OS or the BBC BASIC VI. Any configuration changes that would help, or a patch?

BTW, The full Open RISC OS for PI2 works fine with the same hardware setup. Never used Open RISC OS
before, but I really like it the more I use it.

Update. Today I cold rebooted Pico with BBC BASIC V, keyboard was acting stable this time. I didn’t RTFM regarding dropping out of BASIC to the OS. Doh!
Did a a lot of command line HELP until I found KEYBOARD command and was able to change to . Typed in BASIC, was good to go.
I made the fatal assumption that I couldn’t drop out of BASIC to the OS, so I didn’t try. But then I was distracted with the flaky keyboard
action at that time.
