ZeroPain and USBInfo

Dabbling with Fred G’s new offering StrongKey I hit some unusual key combinations, some of which generated ZeroPain log entries. StrongKey is not the cause, as the log entries relate to a module USBInfo (version0.23) which is part of !HID which is runnning to provide scrollwheel support. I have written to Paul Reuvers the author. |

Are you sure it is related to the module? !USBinfo application certainly has ZeroPain issues, because it is compiled with ABC compiler and uses ABClib, and all such programs probably have issues. I understand this is being worked on. |

Will there be an announcement wrt ABC? My old !DrawGen module was compiled using ABC and will presumably need re-compiling. Jim |

Short answer: yes. |

I have had a reply from Paul Reuvers about the Zero Page accesses. He said: He also sent me new versions of !HID, !Confix, and !USBInfo, and I can confirm that they do not generate Zero Page errors. |

Does that mean a new version of the ABC library is now available? If so, where, please? Jim |

Paul sent me a new version of !Confix which has version 4.17B supplied in directory RMStore. You should probably ask him for a copy. I could send it to you but don’t know if that is proper, especially since it is beta. |

OK, thanks, I’ll need to check to see if I have his email address or a web address. Is the situation that only the library module needs to be replaced? Or do ABC programs need re-compiling? Jim |

v4.17B ?? That’s a heck of a version number jump, the Xat web site has v1.20 from 2014 |

I suspect that’s the version of the ABC Library, not ConFix itself. Or did you have your tongue in your cheek? |

Nah, dealing with a non-maskable interrupt1 and not paying attention the the “in directory RMStore” bit. ABCLib in v1.20 of Confix is v4.14 from 29 Nov 2002, v4.17B may have all the ZPP elements sorted. Mind you, Confix version 4.x with loads of extra features would be nice :) 1 Cat, requiring food. |
