Should the HardDisk4 image contain the DHCP module?

The HardDisk4 image that’s available for download doesn’t contain the DHCP module. So “out of the box” DHCP doesn’t work. I downloaded the DHCP module from the ROOL website and bunged it in System:Modules.Network. Should the DHCP module be included in the HardDisk4 image? |

What machine are you using? Both the Iyonix and Beagle ROMs contain a copy of the DHCP module. I’m not sure offhand about the IOMD ROM images, but they’re still a work in progress anyway. |

I was using the IOMD ROM. So it must be that the ROM is missing the DHCP module. Thanks. |

Does the need for a DHCP module mean you have (otherwise) working networking? |

Without the DHCP module I can set a static IP and it’s fine. If I grab the DHCP module from the ROOL downloads and stick it in !System I can then use DHCP. So networking with the IOMD ROM is working (for me). Just not out of the box as I expected. But as Jeffrey pointed out, the IOMD build is still WIP. I should point out this is using RPCEmu. I did try softloading the latest IOMD on my RiscPC but I have various podules which aren’t 32-bit compatible and the IOMD ROM doesn’t ignore these so it just hangs. This was a while ago and I got fed up with constantly unplugging podules to go between RO5 and RO3.7 to copy files over that I’d burnt to CD etc :) So I can’t remember if I ever got networking going. But I have a feeling the NIC wasn’t 32-bit compatible either! |

Ah, I did wonder, but had assumed that RPCEmu worked like VRPC and used the host stack.
I think a new version does ignore them. But no driver is a bit of a show stopper. Does the DHCP module work on 3.7? (And for that matter is it possible to load support for new format drives?) |
