MDF menu in !Configure Screen plugin fault

Whilst working on the new disc update for ARMX6/TiMachine users, I ran into something of an issue with the Screen configure plugin. It concerns the building of the menu tree of MDF files. Now, on ARMX6 we have two “top level” [ie. not in sub-folders] MDFs – filenames: iMX6 and iMX6-4k At some point in the past, this was all OK (probably mid/late last year). The two MDFs appeared on the top level of the menu as you’d expect. Inside the files, they are listed as “i.MX6 custom modes” and “i.MX6 4k modes”. The latter contains a range of extra modes to make using super-high-res screens more practical. Anyway, with current versions of the plugin, the “iMX6-4k” entry appears on the bottom of the Iiyama sub-menu (which in fact preceeds iMX6 alphabetically). The “iMX6” is correctly shown at the top level. Indeed, adding addional filenames (eg. “iMX6new” etc) resulted in them all appearing on the Iiyama menu. I discovered that the problem didn’t occur if iMX6-4k was renamed ARMX6-4k (ie. alphabetically different from iMX6…) With that change, both MDFs appear correctly on the top level of the menu. For now, I can work round this with an extra copy of the MDF suitably renamed (see above), but that seems a pretty hack-y solution, so I figured that since someone seems to be tinkering with that !Configure plugin at the moment, it was a bug worth reporting. Edit: I can’t recall the menu (historically) being hierarchical. Perhaps this was a relatively recent change, and thus where the bug crept in? |

It is indeed fairly new, specifically since ScrnSetup 0.36 from mid-May. There have been a couple of tweaks since then, but the hierarchical system hasn’t been in any stable release of the OS so it’s not surprising that it still has a bug or two. I found two myself :) |
