Window not redrawing correctly

Has anyone else seen this…

Only happens in filer windows when ‘Small icons’ are selected in Configuration > Filer. Unfortunately this is the setting I use all the time making it difficult to read the filename.

RISC OS 5.23 (02-Apr-16) on Raspberry Pi. Also 5.20 (10-Jun-13) on Iyonix

Can;t say I’ve ever seen that. Are you running any Filer addons, like FullNames?

Yes I do – on all machines. Wonder if that particular program is causing the issue. I’ll stop it auto-loading and see if it makes any difference.

Probably the case and this time round people trying it can’t replicate the situation.
Let us know if stopping using the Filer addons cures things. Don’t forget that you need to take out ALL the addons. So something like QuickFiler would need to be removed too.

The bug as described by Fred B. is reproducible on RO 5.23 17 Dec 2016 on RPCEmu with large icons and no filer addons.
The artifact also appears on the desktop area not covered by the filer window.
Any refresh of the filer window will redraw and clear the visual artifact in the window but not the desktop artifact.

Unsetting the Filer Configuration setting for “Dragging objects uses a solid icon” stops the visual artifact from occurring. I think it’s a drag object transparency issue.
