Access to the archives

Guys, Sorry to sound so thick but here’s a newcomer having trouble getting into the “Tarball” archives. I am using the CD bought at the RISC OS show. I’ve followed the instructions here on the ROOL site under “A note for SparkFS users”. But Spark complains “Unidentified header type found”. I’m using the read-only v.1.39 on my Iyonix RISC OS 5.11. I am probably missing something obvious! Thanks.

TTBOMK, the readonly SparkFS doesn’t support tar archives.

Your best option is to use the command-line tar binary—I’ve uploaded a 32bit one to http://jmb.drobe.co.uk/ (set its filetype to ff8).

Invoke it thus:

tar xvfTEL filename/tar 255
