ISEE release IGEP COM ELECTRON

This amused me. It seems to be ISEE’s answer to the R-Pi, but I like how it’s called the “Electron”. With the R-Pi “Model A” and “Model B”, I feel like I’ve gone back 30 years! Being a Spanish company, I doubt ISEE get the irony, but that doesn’t stop it tickling me.

That looks a hell of a lot more like a Gumstix clone than something that’s meant to compete with the Pi. Which would make it interesting if it really is their answer to the Pi!

At €79 with less I/O onboard (looks like it needs some sort of expansion thingy), I’m not sure the Electron is really able to be called a Pi competitor yet.

Compare this (Electron, €79) with this (RPi, ~€44). Looks like a comparable processor. Not sure on the GPU (anybody know better?). But then the Pi has audio jack, video/HDMI outputs, and ethernet on-board.

Different markets, I think the Electron is aimed at building up embedded devices.
