Merging Hook Desktop & PreDesktop

Is Configure Boot Install able to cope with changes to the beginning of the Desktop & PreDesktop files? I used it to merge today’s disc image and found that the ThemeDefs items had been moved to the end of the Desktop file.

Perhaps I should stick to DirSync for that bit.

At the moment I doubt the scope of edits can be handled by merge, I’d simply replace the files then go back and re-add any ‘Look at’ and ‘Run’ customisations. Things should be settling down a bit now, but there are a few more changes in the wings.

On the plus side, the top of the Acorn nut should be redrawn correctly now (for Ursula theme).

Thanks. That’s the approach I took after I realised what had happened.

Unfortunately I’d been doing a merge then updating my Choices:Boot version from the Hook directory and adding ‘Look at’ & ‘Run’ after. If I’d copied from the download direct I wouldn’t have noticed (or had issue).

Still, lesson learnt. That’s two today. The other is, don’t do one’s 10 mile cycle in the hottest part of the day.

But not if you just *Iconsprites it?

[Edit] However if I add a call to IconChange from the !Run file of my additional icons dir I can have a correctly redrawn big ROOL cog.
