Titanium 1G Ethernet Problem

Hello, I have a problem with Titanium 1G Ethernet. Titanium was connected to new Ethernet Switch which can provide 1G/100M. However RISC OS seems trying to alternately connect 1G and fails then 100M and fails and so on. Is this sort of “autobaud” issue? Or Ethernet cable bad signal problem? For testing Ethernet Switch limit was manually set to 100M and with that RISC OS connects without any problem with 100M Is this problem known? Is there a workaround e.g. a setting in RISC OS to force 1G or 100M connection? Thanks |

Normally a problem with the cable / connections. I first saw the problem myself some years ago on a super high resolution slide scanner in our histology lab and traced it to a damaged cable. More recently I argued with the IT support at Worcester (who use our servers for their Oncology system support) and finally convinced them to change a patch cable – 4 months of intermittent problems disappeared at a stroke.
Forcing the speed was the suggestion from the IT support at Worcester and it didn’t work particularly well. Changing the cable worked rather well (not that they will say so…) I like fixes rather than workarounds. |
