Aemulor on Pandaboard and Beagleboard: compatibility with games

Hi there, It’s already been a month since Aemulor was released for CortexA8 and CortexA9 based boards (Beagleboard and Pandaboard). Initially I tested some Risc PC games (be it patched or original Rpc versions) on the Pandaboard ES, and I got some strange results that I don’t quite understand. -“Cannon Fodder” (Rpc patched) is supposed to be compatible with Aemulor, but I never got to run it on the Pandaboard. -“Lemmings” (Rpc patched) runs without music. -“Alone in the Dark” was also listed as COMPATIBLE with Aemulor Pro, but it hangs in the intro scene in the Pandaboard (Rpc patched). -Same happens with Pacmania: was supposed to be compatible but I get corrupt graphics around pacman & ghosts sprites. -Other games (Zool, Nebulus) run perfectly smooth, but with some of them have “high pitch” music and sounds because they have to run at the 48Khz rate the Pandaboard offers as minimal. So I have these questions: -Has anybody tried games with Aemulor? Is there ANY interest at all on this subject? -Is a Beagleboard more compatible than a Pandaboard ES with games on Aemulor? I would say it has no impact at all because after all Aemulor is the same on both machines and no “extra” CortexA9 features are being used. But I could be wrong… thanks |

I used to use Aemulor for a few games on the Iyonix. I forget what they were now to be honest. I’m hoping Adrian finds time to make Aemulor compatible with the Pi – and then I’d be very interested in the subject again. |
