OmniClient LANman / 98 max share size

Can anyone tell me if there is a maximum size of a share that can be mounted using OmniClient with either a LAN Manager (2.28) or LanMan98 (2.06)? I’m trying to mount a share on Windows 10 that is 4TB, but using either protocol I get an error message from OmniClient. from LAN Manager: Unable to perform operation from LanMan98: Insufficient server memory to perform the requested function I can access the other drives on this Windows machine so it seems that firewall blocking is not an issue. And in my previous Windows 7 machine I could access a 3TB shared drive. |

Can’t help with Windows 10, and my windows 7 machine has less than a TB, but my Synology NAS has a 10.4 Tb partition and I can access that fine using LanMan98 2.06. The only problem is that the Free, Used and Size values are wrong, it thinks it’s a 2Tb disc. SafeStore backs up to it without any errors and I can navigate round the directory structure okay. |

Thanks Richard for the clarification. I did re-enable SMB1 on the Windows side. I can access another share on the same windows machine that is 3TB, which is why I wondered if there was a limit. I’ll try and compare the settings between the two to see if I can spot anything different. Although the 4TB drive is connected as a USB external desktop harddrive – whether that would make a difference I don’t know. Also, I must apologise, I thought I started this thread in the Community Support group. |

After some further investigation I’ve managed to fix this. It would seem that the problem lay with the Windows 10 machine, and after changing some registry settings it seems to be working. I know that the following don’t exactly relate to RISC OS, but for completeness (and in the hope that it may help others) the changes I made were these: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\LargeSystemCache = 1 |
