A beta version of the next AMCOG games title is currently under test. I’m looking for another beta tester – does anyone have any free time? “The arcade machine displays a warning sign and wiring hangs out precariously. When you awaken you can see a ghostly figure floating toward you and feel the You are trapped within the Arcade machine due to a dimensional fault and must In this title, objects may be thrown or held and there are different characters to interact with. Its a parallax scroller with some aspects/modes of play taken from castle quest and other classic games. But the puzzles, theme and maps are original. The game may be saved. As usual, it runs in 16 million colours, features RDSP sound effects and full source code. It features original music & graphics. The player can play as either Carol or Colin (our take on the Citadel gender selection screen :-) ) Here are a few screen shots: I’ve got 2 more compositions to record for this game and have a few other sound effect and graphics adjustments left. Then there’s testing, testing, testing….. |

Oooh, stuck in an arcade game. I’m up for that. I trust you’ll do yourself a favour and include a few easter eggs. What happens up the user enters Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A? How about x, y, z, z, y? Or Up, Down, Up, Left, Right, Left, B? :-) |

Thanks Rick. The two existing in game tunes are done with a couple of 1980’s analogue synths (one 37 year old Juno 6 and one reproduction MS20). One sort of reminds of Jet set willy – but is an original piece and a little more polyphonic. Hmmm it was Easter when I was writing it. I did eat some – hmmm. I’ll see if I can add an egg- however I seem to have drunk all of my espresso coffee. This is likely to cause a crisis in productivity at AMCOG unless I can buy some more… |

So Jet set willy just used the Moonlight Sonata. The MS-20 sounds nice and low-fi chiptune-ish here (I used its XOR ring mod and hipass filter). But the melody is carried by the Juno: |
