NexDock 2 for the R Pi ( laptop shell )

Sorry if it has been discussed already, but have you seen this, for both cellphones and the Raspberry Pi ? |

The last version of the NexDock was useless to RISC OS, as they moved away from the original idea of having a USB input for the keyboard and mouse to making it only connect via Bluetooth. Obviously that isn’t much use to us. I notice this version has USB-C input, which may mean that we can use this more easily, with the Pi or a range of boards running RISC OS. Some becoming much bigger ‘dongles’ than others! Probably not as subtle as the Pinebook… |

I saw this mentioned while reading The Register today. It appears, from the support pages, that no extra drivers are needed on a Pi. Hopefully this means that it’s plug-and-play under RISC OS; it has a standard HDMI input and it seems that it exposes the USB keyboard and touchpad directly. There may be a little work required to get the touchpad working correctly (I remember some difficulties the first time I tried an actual touchscreen) but on the other hand it might “just work” with the existing support. I’m pondering getting one… |
