Have been using RO5.19/RPC/SA/EtherX for some months now.

Is there a version of the Startup Boot – that works around the other way – ie starts up in RO5 unless RO4 requested?

Does printing now work with RO5 RPC? – !PrintPDF seems to work ok.

Can Fat format HD be made to work in the Iyonix – via Fat32Fs?

Just for interest – could ‘aemulor’ be made to work with the RPC?

It is possible to edit the loader so it does this, I did it on my Iyonix a year ago. But it would be nice if it were able to do this as supplied.

I have modified the boot of an RO 4 machine to softload if needed without asking early in the boot sequence (but I do have a removable hard drive fitted.)

I mentioned this to Adrian Lees (the author) in July, he said that Aemulor started life being developed on a Risc PC before the Iyonix came out. I’m not sure how embryonic it would have been, I didn’t ask for any more detail.

Changed the way around RO5 boots – RO5 loads unless you ask for a noload -ie RO4.

Text printing also has the same effect.

Printing to file or PDF gen – seems to work.

Has anyone had any success with printing?

Would someone like to ask Simtec – if the 32bit NIC EtherX – avalable for download?

Confirmed here too. There’s a data abort in the parallel device driver which is due to it not using the hardware abstracted base of the parallel device, having fixed that it then locks up. Boo. Will need to investigate a little further…

Well, 0.73 works (on a Risc PC, module loaded on 4.02) so it looks like a problem introduced post 2009. Narrows it down to only 3 versions.

Now that 5.20 is published for use on RiscPC, this question is more than just of passing interest. Aemulor will be needed for anyone wanting to use 26-bit apps or podule firmware with RISC OS 5. What are the chances?

Unfortunately it appears that Adrian’s health is stopping from doing any updates at present. Aemulor for 5.20 on a RiscPC would I suspect be low on his priority list when he is able to do some work, so I wouldn’t hold my breath.
