DDE Question (DDT ...)
|
I tried to run the DDT debugger, but DDT does not find the file “System:Module.DDT”. Any hints ;-) Volkert |

No, that actually sounds like part of the installation process has been missed out. It’s not your fault: looking at it, I don’t think the installation instructions make it clear, but you need to run the file AcornC/C++.Developer.!SysMerge to ensure that certain support modules are installed on your machine. It’s true that there is a copy of DDT in the tarballs, but it probably shouldn’t really be there. It’s also probably not an up-to-date version. Some background information may be helpful: we have just, a couple of weeks ago, reorganised the DDE distribution, mainly so that it’s equally easy for people to install it on emulated RISC OS machines or on modern native hardware like the Raspberry Pi and Beagleboard. The last time the installation process was overhauled, it was intended that the DDE was provided on a CD-ROM, which is not so convenient for modern native hardware. Unfortunately, we do seem to be having some teething problems with the new DDE – sorry about that, hopefully we will get them sorted out soon. |

Ok, i now using AcornC/C++.Developer.!SysMerge. Works fine. I was a bit confused. The installation instruction in the dde book is a bit outdated. The directory structure on page 17 looks a bit different from structure i found in the DDE-Release i downloaded. Now i understand it … Some up-to-date installation notes would be very helpfull for all the RISC OS/RPi “rookies” ;-) |
