Awards poll for 2019 initial discussion
|
The results of the 2019 poll are now available on the website. They were initially announced on Twitter at the beginning of the month – but before adding them to the website, I wanted to do something else… And that was (finally) bring the survey results up to date – so they have now ALL been published right up to date (and the older couple that had already been published have been given a lick of paint). All linked from the site’s main page. There is also a page with charts showing how the survey results have changed since the beginning. |

Oh balls. Yet another opportunity to curse Cloudflare under gritted teeth… BTW, typo. Best overall contributor – Third place, Second place, Third place. |

It’s not about winning, it’s about taking part! |

Now fixed. I did actually spot that earlier, but it was in the midst of a struggle to get the new and changed pages uploaded1. I was too focused on that, so forgot to deal with the mistake. 1. I only discovered a couple of days ago that I can no longer connect to the server using FTPc4. FileZilla on linux, OTOH, continues to work, but with an annoying issue2, so to upload I’m copying the site onto my NAS, switching to Linux, copying the site from the NAS to the local hard drive3, then uploading from there. 2. Any and all new files uploaded don’t have public read access (overwrites of existing ones do) – so I also have to deal with that after uploading. 3. Some software running on my Linux box is happily able to directly access the NAS, and load or save files there. FileZilla is not one of those. Probably SMB related. It’d probably be simpler to use a memory stick. 4. At some point I’ll to see if there’s a logging option in FTPc, and if so try again and look at the logs. Perhaps there will be a clue – and/or I can then send them to Colin to see if he has any idea. I suspect the hosts have changed something and FTPc doesn’t like it. |

I notice the awards only go back to 2013, this was when instead of focusing on producing new RISC OS software, I started creating new RISC OS users instead (well someone has to). So in the spirit of covid where the TV drama and sporting news departments have been dredging up any old stuff to make up for the lack of new content, please could we have a retrospective RISC OS awards for the year 2000. It’s either that or I’ll have to come up with a whole new disc based bacon saving idea. |
