Quackers on NetSurf

Every time I install a new version of NetSurf I have to delete all references to the search engine I dislike on the Welcome page and substitute the appropriate text for DuckDuckGo. This is a nuisance. Can the NetSurf developers include a “Search engines” section in the NetSurf configuration window, to include a selection of search engines as many other browsers do, e.g. FireFox? For inspiration, see this photo taken under a railway bridge in Reigate. |

Could you not just save a copy of the homepage from Netsurf:Resources to somewhere else before upgrading so that you don’t have to edit it again? Or maybe lock it so that it isn’t overwritten when you upgrade – would that work? |

I have done your first suggestion sometimes, but usually edit the lines that refer to the search engine as there is a possibility that the rest of the page has been revised. In fact there are some differences in non-search engine lines between NetSurf 3.4 and 3.10. |

If it is the NetSurf welcome page you could always alter it to use the search engine you want rename it to something else and get NetSurf to use that as the home page from the iconbar menu choices. So that anytime you update NetSurf you will not be affected. |
